Parrots
are intelligent social birds. They love to fly in groups and meeting other parrots. Locking them
in cages denies them this. Let the parrots fly free!

The illegal trade figures for wild exotic animals can only be imagined.
Poaching eggs and or live birds from their habitat destroys the nesting sites as well.

"Illegal trapping and smuggling operations of live birds may have contributed to the decrease in Australian parrot populations, but the removal of eggs from their nests poses a bigger threat. This is because nest-robbers will often destroy the birds' nesting hollow, making it unavailable for the next breeding season. It is easier to obtain and transport eggs than adult birds, and far greater numbers can be smuggled from the country and distributed overseas by this means"
Once they are kidnapped from their habitat by smugglers, the locals do the rest and destroy the habitat of the fauna. The 'avicultural' industry has the obvious in mind. 'Pet-lovers' have their own needs, a colourful addition to the drab abode or an interactive partner. When the captive exotic falls off the perch, a substitute can be consumed next.
Parrots socialise in groups in vast territories. For many their existence ranges from vulnerable to endangered. The disappearance of their habitat and the existence of the legal and illegal trade depends on the will of the human species.
Encourage 'wilderness', tolerate the existence of flora and fauna in their parts of the Earth. Look after your own local environment. Be mindful of your needs.
